Congratulations to Sydney Keenan, who has excelled in both her academics as well as her athletics and leadership on herJoan Grishkot Foundation Scholarship Award for 2023.
Sydney Keenan is currently a senior at Hudson Falls High School and is graduating as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2023. Sydney has served as the President of the Class of 2023 for all four years of High School. Sydney is active in various service based organizations, including her school’s National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Key Club. She has served as the Vice President of these organizations throughout her time as a member. Other than academics and service, Sydney is very committed to athletics. She played volleyball for her school for all four years of high school, as well as for a local club team. She was a member of her school’s track and field team her junior and senior year. Outside of school, she dances at Bolton Dance Academy in Glens Falls. Sydney has danced for the studio for fourteen years, and she had been a member of their Specialty performance group for the past five years. This year, in addition to her own classes, Sydney student taught a few classes of younger dancers ranging from ages three to eight. Additionally, she is a choralier in her high school choir, and has played the violin for eight years. Sydney plans to continue her education at Vassar College in the fall, where she will be studying neuroscience on a pre-med track.
