Congratulations to Norah Niesz for winning a Joan Groshkpt FOundation Scholarship for 2023. aimed at helping her pursue a degree in biomedical sciences, she aims to take her athletic and academic skills to new levels at St Lawrence University.
Norah Niesz is 18 years old and attends Greenwich Junior Senior High School. She is an excellent student as well as a participant in three varsity sports. She is in the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) at her school. She plays soccer, basketball, and softball. She has captained both her soccer team and basketball team. In 2022, Norah and her softball team won the New York State Class C Softball State Championship. In 2023, Norah helped her basketball team to a record of 26-1, winning a sectional title, a regional title, and making a trip to the state tournament. Outside of the classroom and the fields, Norah is an avid participant in her community. She has altar served at her church, volunteered at her library, and volunteered at Comfort Foods. Next year, Norah plans to attend St. Lawrence University and major in biomedical sciences. She will be a member of the women's basketball team there. She does not know exactly what she wants to do after college, but she knows she wants to enter the medical field in some way
